In March, we road tripped with our beautiful friends, Hayley and Jake, to take some Joshua Tree couple portraits.
Haley and I met each through Instagram last year and clicked instantly. Unfortunately, I have bad timing when it comes to making new friends. Haley and Jake are moving back to the east coast this spring.
Hayley and I adventured around the Salton Sea together in February. We decided to plan one more desert trip with all four of us, so they could get their fill of Southern California warm weather and National Park sight-seeing. I also wanted to give them some beautiful memories to take home with them.
Golden Hour in Joshua Tree
We drove through the park end to end. We stopped at a few landmarks like Skull Rock before returning to a patchy field of Joshua Trees as the sun turned gold. I think we might have found the biggest Joshua Tree of them all. I’ll return soon to confirm.
We chased the sun across the looming boulders in the central part of the park. I scraped my knee while trying to scramble up a rock in my non-hiking boots. So typical.
Joshua Tree has never disappointed me in the sunset arena. This night was no exception.
Haley & Jake- here’s to the next adventure! Best of luck to you both in your travels and I hope to see you guys again in the hopefully near future again.
