Austin booked a surprise proposal and engagement session with me before Kailee’s ring arrived. It’s completely endearing how much of a romantic this guy is and how head-over-heels in love he is with Kailee. He poured over the details for weeks to make sure everything was perfect. I’m talking a photographer (me), a harp, bubbly, rose petals…you name it.
He took Kailee on a little weekend trip down here to San Diego for, what was supposed to be, a casual evening wine tasting. Their “grand tour” of Bernardo Winery ended in the historic barrel room where Sharon, the harpist, and I sat waiting. As the barn door slid open, it took a minute for Kailee’s eyes to adjust to the dark and take in her surroundings. She gasped in surprise as Austin led her inside then immediately dropped to his knee. The ring arrived much earlier than expected, catching Kailee completely off guard by the surprise. She said yes, of course.
A week later, I met these two at the surreal sand dunes in Glamis for their engagement session. We spent the evening running up and down the mountains of sand together until our lungs hurt. Darkness had already settled by the time we finished the long trek back to the car. Thanks for the adventure, Austin and Kaille, and warm wishes for your future together!
